A great selection of Vintage Big-Little Books
A Big Little Book was typically 3⅝″ wide and 4½″ high, with 212 to 432 pages making an approximate thickness of 1½″. The interior book design usually displayed full-page black-and-white illustrations on the right side, facing the pages of text on the left. Stories were often related to radio programs (The Shadow), comic strips (The Gumps), children’s books (Uncle Wiggily), novels (John Carter of Mars) and movies (Bambi). Later books of the series had interior color illustrations.

As George moved things around to make room for the 5 – yes 5! – truckloads of dolls that needed sorting and displayed throughout the store for Thanksgiving weekend, this wonderful collection of Star Wars Miniatures w/Stat Cards was discovered. We meticulously went through them to match cards with figures and now have a large box with scores of these minis in excellent condition.
This is a beautiful collection. It’s hard to believe that there were so many different characters and themes in the Star Wars Series. Fascinating! We also found a book of RULES:

We first want to say how thankful we are for each and every person who has stepped into our store of collections! George – the ‘collector of collections’ – loves sharing his many finds and all the stories that go with them. We wish everyone a Thanksgiving filled with peace, love, and gratitude for all that we have. Remember, it’s not about quantity, but quality. Well, except for George – the collector! (chuckle)
It’s been George’s tradition to decorate the weekend following Thanksgiving. But this year, the hundreds of dolls he acquired meant that he had to move a lot of things around ASAP!!! So the windows are decorated a couple of days early – yes, thanks, Barbara. And Christmas can be spotted throughout the store.

Coonskin caps were originally worn by some American Indians as a traditional article of clothing; however, European pioneers that settled in the Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina regions in the 18th and 19th centuries adopted it as their own and wore them as hunting caps. Even Benjamin Franklin, in his trip to Paris as Ambassador to France, wore a cap as a symbol of patriotism. Its rough-hewn look has become an iconic part of the American frontiersman’s image.
